Can India retain their No #1 Ranking in test?

What do u think if performance like ongoing series against Eng Can they hold their status as # 1 test team in world cricket?

Its a tough series & injuries are not helping team India's cause but can't take anything away from a solid English performance in the 1st test. Maybe 2nd test is also not going to go their way. If & when full squad is available for selection, can we think of taking on a rampaging Eng properly. Till then team has to ensure that they don't fall far too behind.

We hope for a better performance from team India & its not that Eng would become invincible, once they attain no.1. India can always take that position back with good performances in Aus & other future matches. Its one thing getting to no.1 but its altogether another matter to maintain it & India has done credit to its no.1 position, no one thought that they would last this long.
