India Lost First ODI Against South AfricaIn the five match series India lost by 135 runs from South Africa. South Africa batted first after winning the toss. Three half centuries scored from South African side. HM Amla, AB de Villiers and JP Duminy scored half centuries. South Africa managed to reach the total of 289 runs. They set 290 runs target to India.

India was hot favorite to win the match after winning test match and T-20 series had lost the first ODI encounter against South Africa. Zaheer Khan, Patel and Sharma took two wickets each but could not contain South African batsmen from scoring runs.

Indian start for the run chase was not good. They lost both openers for just 13 runs. The middle order didn’t prove solid before South African bowling attack. V Kholi scored hard half century. Raina scored 32 runs. There were no Indian batsmen who stayed on the wicket for long time. Captain MS Dhoni was run out on 25 runs.

Indian inning ended on 154 runs. They lost all their wickets and lost the match by 135 runs. South African bowling attack was good and they didn’t allow Indian batsmen to stay on the wicket.

LL Tsotsobe took 4 wickets while Steyn and Morkel took 2 wickets each. India has lost the match by quit big margin and it will definitely dented their world cup preparations. South Africans will definitely try to maintain their lead in the series and won it before mega event. They are leading five match series by 1-0.
